Responsibility

As a domestic family company, Kuljetus Lakkapää and its subsidiary companies Liikenne Lakkapää and Lakkapää Matkat have paid special attention to sustainability work.
In our own everyday operations, we have strived to reduce the carbon footprint left by our company. Below are the concrete measures we have taken.

• Our bus, taxi and truck fleet is Euro5 and Euro6 emission class cars.
• We train our staff in economical driving.
• We have been able to significantly reduce vehicle idling.
• We use biodegradable cleaning agents for the exterior and interior cleaning of vehicles
• We recycle all waste generated in our business operations.
• Our hall is heated using environmentally friendly district heating (Lahti Energia).
• Our hall's exterior and interior lighting has been upgraded to energy-saving LED lights.
• We have increasingly moved from paper-based communication to electronic communication.
• We require our travel agency partners to operate in accordance with our own values.
• All guarantees and permits related to our business are in order (public transport permit, goods transport permit, tour operator guarantees for competition and consumer authorities). We are an operator in accordance with the Customer Liability Act.

We take care of the well-being of our staff by encouraging them to participate in training in the field. We organize one joint training event at least once a year for all interested parties. We have a close dialogue with staff representatives on occupational safety issues. We organize informal events for staff outside of working hours as well. We pay wages in accordance with the collective agreement. In driving planning, special attention is paid to compliance with working time legislation (drivers' rest periods).

It is important for us to act honestly, taking into account customers, staff and environmental values.
